Hotel Policy

Check-In Time, Check-Out Time, and Late Arrivals

  • Check-in time is after 3:00 pm
    • If you plan to arrive before 3:00 pm, you may park in our parking garage (based on availability) and will be more than happy to store your luggage and tell you about our favorite places to have lunch or to visit
    • If you plan to arrive after 8:30 pm, please call us at 619-437-1900 so that we may coordinate your check-in with our overnight manager
  • Check-out time is 11:00 am

One Night Deposit Required at Time of Booking

  • At time of booking, we require a credit card deposit equal to the first night’s stay, plus tax
  • At check-in, you will be charged the remainder of your stay
  • If you choose to use a debit card to guarantee and pay for your stay, your bank will automatically hold additional funds, beyond the expected amount due, in an effort to cover any incidental charges. We have no control over the amount your bank will hold or when the funds will be released back to your account. Please check with your bank for further information
  • If paying with cash, a deposit equal to the room, tax, and $100 per day towards incidentals will be collected
  • Please notify the hotel prior to arriving if you intend to pay for your stay with a gift certificate
  • Holidays, special events, and group bookings have separate deposit and cancellation policies; please see below and contact the inn directly for details

Seven-Day Cancellation Policy

  • If you cancel your reservation seven days or more prior to your arrival date, your initial deposit will be refunded minus a $25 processing fee
  • If you cancel your reservation within seven days of your arrival date, or fail to cancel your reservation and fail to arrive, you will forfeit your deposit and be charged for all nights included in your original reservation
  • Should you need to cancel your reservation, please call us at 619-437-1900

Group Reservations: Three or more rooms, either booked together or individually by parties traveling together, constitutes a group reservation. Group reservations may require payment at the time of booking and a 30-to-60-day cancellation policy. An additional group booking fee may be required. These policies supersede policies shown on an individually booked reservation. If you, or the parties you are traveling with, reserve three or more rooms, you will be contacted and a contract will be required.

Holiday or Special Event Periods: Reservations during special event or holiday periods are subject to a longer cancellation policy, which will be stated in the confirmation notes. Should you not cancel your reservation within the specified timeframe, you will be charged for all nights of your original reservation. Additionally, a minimum night stay may be required, and early departures will be charged for the original reservation.

Extended Stays & Early Departure Policy

  • Reservations for seven days or more are subject to pre-payment of the entire amount at the time of reservation
  • A 14-day cancellation policy applies to extended stays
    • For all reservations canceled 14 days or more before the date of arrival, your deposit will be refunded minus a $25 processing fee
    • Cancellations within 14 days of arrival, will forfeit 50% of the entire amount of the stay, plus tax
    • Once checked-in, early departures are charged for the entire length of the original reservation

Occupancy & Tourism Tax

  • Transient occupancy tax and a tourism tax is charged on the room rate only

Reservations Made Through Online Third-Party Agencies Such As

  • We highly recommend that you reserve directly with the inn to receive the best rate, however, you may use third-party agents such as
  • Should you need to cancel your reservation, you must do so through their website
  • If we need to contact you about important information regarding your reservation, we will be unable to do so as only the online travel agent has your contact information

Front Desk Hotel Safe Available

  • A safe is available at the front desk
  • Items checked into the front desk safe are available to access during the inn’s posted front desk hours
  • Upon checking an item in, you will receive a written receipt with the declared value
  • We cannot accept cash or items valued in excess of $2500 per room
  • We are not responsible for any items or valuables left in the guestroom

Dog Policy

  • We have one dog-friendly guestroom at the inn
  • An advance dog reservation is required and an additional non-refundable fee will be added to your folio
  • Please contact the inn directly to discuss availability, policies, and fees. 
  • A service animal, as acknowledged by the Americans with Disabilities Act, is welcome to accompany their owner while staying at the inn

Additional Guests and Children

  • Room rates are based on single or double occupancy
  • With the exception of our Garden King Spa Suites with Sofa Bed, each room has a maximum occupancy of two people
  • The Garden King Spa Suites with Sofa Bed feature a king bed plus a sofa bed and accommodate up to four people (there is an additional fee of $25 per person, per night, for each additional guest staying in the room)
  • Our Historic Lodge Guestrooms do not accommodate children
  • If you are traveling with a child, please call us for assistance in selecting the best room for your party
  • Rollaway beds are not available

Accessibility at 1906 Lodge

Shipments to 1906 Lodge

Guests are invited to ship items to the hotel to arrive no more than 48 hours prior to reservation date. Please note that any shipment is made at the guest's own risk and the hotel is not responsible for lost, stolen, or late deliveries. For multiple or large Amazon shipments we recommend using Amazon Locker and are happy to assist with identifying the most suitable locker location.
