Coronado Celebrates 100 years of Naval Aviation

Coronado Aviary History

February 12 - Historic Aerial Review

Known as the "Birthplace of Naval Aviation", it is fitting that Coronado will celebrate in a big way. The U.S. Navy will launch its festivities with the "100th Anniversary Parade of Flight" at North Island Naval Air Station. See Navy, Marine and Coast Guard aircraft, including the Blue Angels, fly over San Diego Bay. It is a rare opportunity for civilians to be admitted to the naval installation. Not only will you be able to stroll the airfield to view historic aircraft, you can actually tour the USS John C. Stennis aircraft carrier.

Everything is FREE! Gates open at 9:00 AM and the airshow begins at 1:00 PM. See other events at the Navy's website or the Coronado Historical Association.
